About Us

Who We Are

Since HOG opened our doors in September 2015, we have seen the Lord moving! From young families to individuals young-at-heart, everyone feels welcome to come as they are. With church services on Saturday evenings at 6:30, some people come to our services and then go to their church on Sundays. We are not about numbers; we are about really getting to know people, loving them right where they’re at, telling them the truth about Jesus, and letting God be God!

PURPOSE

Our purpose as a church is simple…
To be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ to anyone and everyone we meet!

VISION

We are a community of believers bound together by a faith relationship in Jesus Christ with a passion to reach everyone with the message of true freedom. Our vision is to be a church family that builds community with those seeking a greater purpose in life.

OUR CORE “FAMILY” VALUES

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Being real in Christ… having genuine and authentic love for others
  • Providing an environment of freedom for all people
  • Developing character as we study the Bible and grow spiritually in Christ
  • Strengthening our family and our community
  • Following Jesus’ example – surrendering all to Him
  • Pursuing excellence in Christ – giving God the glory in everything

OUR PASTOR

BILLY HELM

For the past 21 years, the Lord has healed and restored many areas of Billy’s broken past, and Billy knew that the Lord could use him to help others in the same situation. After his first mission trip to Mexico in 2002, Billy Helm became aware of his calling to help the poor and spread the Gospel. Billy has founded many ministries in the past 20 years to help youth, drug addicts, and others in need. From the borders of Acuna, Mexico, to the coast of Waveland, Mississippi, to the streets of Bastrop, Texas – Billy, his wife, Rhonda, and their family desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.

OUR STAFF

KAYLA PALLA – CHILDREN’S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Kayla felt led into children’s ministry by watching her late mother-in-law’s example as a teacher at a Christian school for 25 years. Kayla and her husband, Aaron, have 5 children and as a family they seek to serve God in whatever capacity and role He has for them. She has been a children’s ministry teacher for 5 years and believes that children have a way of showing what God’s love really looks like.

AARON PALLA – MEDIA/WORSHIP DIRECTOR

Aaron’s late mother and father instilled a firm foundation in him. Shadowing them for over 25 years brought about a call to worship. Having 5 children and being married 13 years has been a testimony of God’s goodness and grace. Aaron believes worship is not just a song, but a lifestyle.
